PERSPECTIVE

A missed turn led me to Main Street where I saw an incredibly long line of people waiting to enter the brewery in quest of hand sanitizer.

Across the street were large stone containers brimming over with brightly colored tulips.

I parked my car so I could take some pictures.

Even though we don't have a say in the hand we are dealt with, our perspective can change the way we experience it.

Today I choose to focus on the beauty of God's creation, and to give thanks that He is in control. I choose to focus on my many blessings rather than the restrictions and inconveniences that COVID-19 has imposed on us. I am thankful that in my neck of the woods we are still allowed to go out for walks.

  2. Your attitude is so RIGHT! I have been trying to focus on the good things about this. The breweries around here are making sanitizer as well. I suppose it would make one smell like an alcoholic.

  4. I've never imagined that breweries would sell hand sanitizer! I, too, choose to focus on the beauty and not get bogged down by the pandemic.

    1. Anita, they're making it as a service to the community, since it's almost impossible to find it in the stores.

  6. I hope the redaction in the last line is OK, but I've been there, and there's just one word that covers it.

    The West has a great hissy-fit
    when what it needs has gone away,
    but in Creation's armpit,
    that's just every day.
    In sunny Mogadishu
    they eat the turtle doves;
    they're out of bathroom tissue,
    but have Kalashnikovs.
    And if it is to far Helmand
    that you are told to go,
    do not take someone's left hand;
    you don't want to know.
    We really should embrace our luck,
    'cause dude, out there, it's really ******.

  8. Those tulips are so beautiful! That's the key... Our choice in how to use our perspectives. Being a believer, we know there are lots of good things even in times of trials. Why? Jesus had overcome the world! Blessings to you.

  10. Thank You for your thoughts. I totally AGREE. I choose to find things to enjoy (especially now as we go through this COVID-19 Virus) in life ---such as being out in nature, enjoying the Spring flowers, Sunrises/sunsets, Birds, etc. etc. etc.

    It's all about ATTITUDE and as you said, perspective.

    Hugs,
    Betsy
