Word prompt--FORWARD
Five minutes to write about it
This week's word prompt has me stumped.
I have a hard time looking forward and anticipating the future. A long history of things not turning out the way I expected them to, has made me resilient, but a poor judge.
It's not always a bad thing though. As much as having my plans derailed can be frustrating, disappointing, and even painful, sometimes it's opened a door to better things down the road.
What works best for me is to trust God, and go with the flow. Instead of getting upset by unexpected twists and turns, I can remind myself that this is the day the LORD has made, and purpose to rejoice and be glad in it. I can also go for a walk with my camera. Living in the beautiful neck of the woods that I do, I can look forward to finding something beautiful or unusual to take pictures of.
Thank you for sharing a bit of the wisdom you have gleaned from your experiences. I appreciate the reminder to trust God and purpose to rejoice in each day. Visiting from FMF. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great attitude to have! Sweet Buttercups.
ReplyDeleteI kick the can on down the road,
ReplyDeleteand do the things I must,
even though my heavy load
and me are caked with dust.
Nothing really panned out well,
nothing really rhymed,
never had the new-car smell,
and writing never chimed,
but the sun's still shining,
and the breeze is fair;
there's no point in whining,
so relax, and breathe the air
that God supplies in quantity,
and He gives it all for free!
Thanks, Andrew. You always find the right words. I wouldn't say your writing never chimed. It does to me--and I'm sure to everyone else you write a sonnet for.
DeleteI also think that trusting God and going with the flow works out best. It is good to be on the lookout to find something good in every day even the hard ones. Thank you for your encouraging words.
ReplyDeleteYes, and amen...
ReplyDeleteForward is the best way to go...the Lord said things weren't going to be perfect and trouble free.
The promise is He will be with us the entire way.

I'm trying to live in the present as much as I can. The future is a total unknown and I'm using these days as a lesson in patience, which I sorely needed. Take care!
