Word prompt--ORDER
Five minutes to free write about it.
---------------------------
There are certain rules of my own making that I like to follow when doing jigsaw puzzles, a certain order of things. Like first finding the edge pieces and putting the border together.
This puzzle, however, made it impossible for me to follow that order. The pieces are small and oddly shaped. They don't fit together the way normal pieces are supposed to--not even the edge pieces. I've had to work from the inside out, instead of the outside in.
At first it was frustrating, but now that I'm getting the hang of it, it's actually quite fun.
"I've had to work from the inside out, instead of the outside in." Your words made me think, "Is this not how God works on us most often? From the inside out?" Umm. Visiting from FMF.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. I thought of that too, but my five minutes were up.
DeleteWhat a fun puzzle! I can't wait to see it when you are done...it looks like a challenge, but who doesn't like a challenge!?
ReplyDeleteI e-mailed you a picture.
DeleteI thought I'd seen them all, but this one is new to me. How many pieces? When we were younger, we always use to work the border first. But then a blogger told me it was more fun to work from the inside out,and we like it better that way.
ReplyDelete1,000 pieces, and they don't all interlock. Around the border, some just touch.
DeleteSo much we can learn from day to day things.
ReplyDeleteThank you.

Lots of spiritual lessons indeed! I was thinking how patient you need to be to solve the puzzle. Looking at the little pieces remind me of how bits and pieces in our lives, when God is put in the center, life's purpose becomes clear just like how you start from the center and the whole thing becomes a big, clear, beautiful picture! Blessings and prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That looks like a fascinating puzzle. I love that we need both order and flexibility in life - sometimes, a bit of chaos helps us learn too!
ReplyDeleteBeen awhile since I worked on a puzzle with my son and grands. Don't think I could handle the inside-out version you mastered!
ReplyDeleteI guess you are learning a new "order" good for you..I like hearing you thought it was fun.
ReplyDeleteOur home doesn't have a whole lot of ORDER at this time. Too much stuff we are selling on eBay and it tends to be in every nook and cranny...making me crazy.

Glad you are conquering it. I don't do well on those types of puzzles.
ReplyDeleteI get frustrated with puzzles. I need the experts to help me out. I am glad you figured it all out. Your like our Hannah, a puzzle queen.
