We haven't had much snow this winter in my neck of the woods, but the last several days we have been on alert that a big storm is headed our way over the weekend.
This morning, on my way out, the sky looked eerie. The unusual combination of contrails and clouds intrigued me, so I pulled over to take some shots.
Whether we get the big storm that's supposed to dump 20" or more on us, or whether it winds up getting diverted and we get nothing at all, it feels like something ominous and unusual is about to take place. What it might be, I do not know. That will have to be the subject of another post.
Meanwhile, we could play a game of "what do you see?"
Among other things, I see a hand, a giant toothbrush, searchlights, a face, a cross, and part of a game of tic-tac-toe. How about you?

I'm having trouble with posting comments so I have to post anonymous. This is Mari from My Little Corner.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - I love the blue skies and I love finding images in the clouds.
We've gotten about 26 inches of snow in the last week and the skies have been gray all week!
I see beautiful skies! It's going to be 'out of the ordinary' cold for us this weekend. brrrrr Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteAmen! I see a road to heaven.
ReplyDeleteit's "unusually" cold where I live as well, and we are expecting lots of snow, but it's not here yet. My skies are hard grey. I prefer the blue skies and cloud shapes you shared. Stay warm and safe! Visiting from FMF#14
ReplyDeleteI do see the hand and the game of Tic Tac Toe ... love them all. Praying you stay safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteFrom the West Coast where we are finally seeing sunshine after so many days of gloomy dense fog.
(((hugs)))

I see a hand playing the piano on the second one. We are supposed to get this horrible storm starting tonight. We have no alternate heat source, what about you?
ReplyDeleteUnusual, definitely! Beautiful? Oh, yes!
ReplyDeleteI love laying on my back looking for cloud pictures.

So much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well for you as the storm as made its way.
I love looing for cloud pictures - sunrises and sunsets, too. Our Father is quite the artist!
ReplyDeleteHope you are warm and safe this week, GGG!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful sky photos. The contrails really caught my eye. I remember how blue and clear the sky felt during the COVID period, when there were so few of them... and now they are everywhere again. We see many here too, but yours are especially striking.
ReplyDeleteI love the little game of seeing shapes. I can see a hand reaching for a stick, and somewhere a fork — and very clearly the letter H. I even notice something that looks like a cross. It’s fascinating how many images appear when you really look.
Not long ago, I was cycling and saw a cloud above me shaped like a feather, finely detailed and almost crystal-like. It was so beautiful — one of those moments that stays with you.
Thank you for sharing this unusual sky. I’m curious — do you have snow where you are now?
Love how you captured the unusual sky--it really does make you pause and wonder!
ReplyDeleteIt’s amazing how many shapes can appear when you really look.
Hoping the storm passes safely and you get just the right amount of snow, or maybe none at all!
Stay safe, Sandra!
Loving the photos, Sandra, Did you get the big storm they were predicting? Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletestay safe. In the UK it is unusual NOT to talk about the weather!
