FITNESS FRIDAY: SETTLING IN

"For it is God who works in you to
will and to act according to his
good purpose." - (Philippians 2:13)

Last week I posted about a very liberating aha moment I had experienced related to this fitness journey we are on, and when I first saw this week's assignment, I was tempted to skip it. After all, what more could I say than what I already had in that last post? However, here I am again.

This week has been pretty uneventful. It's sort of been a time of settling in and becoming more sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, rather than trying to do things the way I thought they should be done. Although I didn't start out with any specific goals, I found myself seriously focusing on portion control and drinking more water, and wound up shedding those couple of extra pounds I had gained back the week my walks increased my appetite to ravenous proportions..

I can't wait to see where the path leads next.

  1. Yeah for you!!! Portion control does a lot, doesn't it? I am always amazed to read what the "portion" is on the nutrion information of the label. I think I've been eating for 3 or 4---even when I'm NOT pregnant! :)

  2. Good for you ! I am always so hungry after walking too! You would think I hadn't eaten in days! Water will curb that though. As soon as I get done walking , I drink two big glasses of water so I don't end up eating everything in my fridge. Keep up the good work

  3. Good job on the weight loss. I have had to be extra careful on the portions as well, and it really is paying off.

  4. I can't think of anything better than "becoming more sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit." Good for you and pleasing to the LORD. Undoubtedly, He'll lead you further into FREEDOM!

  5. Becoming more aware of the promptings of the HOly Sprirt and seeing success in that effort is a huge milestone to report! Thank you for sharing that and not skipping this week, because we all need to focus more on what path God wants us on...not the eone we want to be on. I am sp happy that you found that side of this fitness journey....and for the record, that was not an uneventful week :) Keep on drinking that water and enjoying smaller and healthier meals!!!

  9. At least you are not letting it get the best of you. You are such a blessing. I hope you realize that. We will all reach our bumps in the road, the important thing is to not let them hold us back. Here's to believing in a better week and weeks to come! Love you,
    Tammy
